Responsible for researching, designing, developing, and modifying software systems (e.g., custom, COTS, GOTS). Working primarily with Unity game engine using C#. Presents ideas for system improvements, software developments or enhancements. Produces detailed specifications and writes software code. Works closely with instructional designers, 3D artists and subject matter experts to understand functional requirements. Supports formal testing in controlled environment before code is promoted to production. Adheres to program configuration change control standards. Provides input into training manuals for users. Writes and modifies application programmatic interfaces (API). Maintains and documents knowledge of feature and technical changes in the application.

Worked on a small team with 2 other individuals to create an immersive Virtual Reality experience to teach middle school students about trade careers in the maritime industry and give them some “hands-on” experience with several of these careers in an exploratory game format. My responsibilities included designing the structure of the game, implementing all UI elements, creating intuitive and inclusive controls for VR, and 3D asset creation.

Led a small development team of undergraduate students assigned to work on the Coastal Coders project, an educational game designed for grades K-12 to introduce and get them excited for STEM fields. Worked on asset/scene creation, producing interactive replicated models of both a submarine and aircraft carrier created in basic digital twin format using Maya and Unity game engine.

Summer 2021 - Created 3D building assets using both Blender and Maya for Virginia Philosophy Reality Lab VR project, which is now being used in the philosophy department at Old Dominion University.
Summer 2022 - Created 3D prop assets using Maya to populate various scenes for Coastal Coders project.
